Filming took place in September between Siena and Montepulciano
Bollywood is back in Tuscany. The great Indian cinema, with the production company Yash Taj Film, chose Siena and Montepulciano last September to set some of the scenes for War 2, the sequel to the blockbuster action movie released in 2019. Starring the movie three Indian and Asian film stars, Rama Rao Jr., Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.
The sequel, directed by Ayan Mukerji, will take the narrative forward for Hrithik’s character of Major Kabir Dhaliwal, a Raw agent, who was shown to have gone rogue in the first part of the film. War 2 will debut in theatres on August 14, 2025.
Locations
The set involved Piazza del Campo in Siena for several days and some streets in the historic center of Montepulciano, Via del Teatro, Porta delle Farine, Via di Talosa and Piazza Grande.
