DESCRIPTION

Leopolda Station, the first railway station in Florence, built at the end of the 19th century, is now an exhibition space that extends over a surface area of approximately 6000 m2 and is divided into two main areas: the Leopolda Station and the Alcatraz area. The Leopolda Station consists of a single space with a metal roof structure divided into two bays 15 metres wide and respectively 140 metres and 100 metres long. The Alcatraz area is former warehouse with two floors and a total surface are of 1500 m2. The 1100 m2 square in front of the station was refurbished by Gae Aulenti in 1996.
