DESCRIPTION

It was the first orphanage in Europe and one of the first examples of Renaissance architecture, designed by Filippo Brunelleschi in the 15th century. The external porch is 71 metres long and consists of nine bays, to which ten terracotta tondi by Andrea della Robbia were added in the 15th century. After its renovation, which ended in 2016, the Museum was extended and the fourteenth century stoop (the former drying room) was made accessible, with a view of the city.
