DESCRIPTION
Rio nell’Elba is an ancient village perched on a hill on the northeastern side of Elba. The village is the home of the main places of biodiversity enhancement, the Orto dei Semplici Elbano, adjacent to the Hermitage of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria. Also worthy of mention is the 11th century Parish Church of Santi Giacomo e Quirico.
