DESCRIPTION
Piazzale Michelangelo is the most famous observation point with a panoramic view of Florence and was built in 1869 by the Florentine architect Giuseppe Poggi to celebrate the artist and his works. In the centre of the square, stands a monument consisting of a bronze copies of the four allegories of the Medici Chapels of San Lorenzo and the impressive statue of David.
