DESCRIPTION
The Rio Marina Mineral Park is the oldest mine on Elba Island, and was created as a way of preserving and promoting the processing of iron. The mine is of great scientific value and has picturesque sites characterised by ‘lunar’ landscapes. The Museum of Elba Minerals and Mineral Art is home to a large collection of approximately 1,000 samples of minerals and rocks from the island.
