DESCRIPTION
The Basilica of Santo Spirito, built on the ruins of the thirteenth century Augustinian convent, is the last masterpiece by Filippo Brunelleschi. Inside, there are three large Renaissence-style naves, numerous works of art, such as Michelangelo’s wooden crucifix, and the three Cloisters, of which the Chiostro Grande (Grand Cloister) constructed by Bartolomeo Ammannati stands out.
