DESCRIPTION
The Church of Autostrada del Sole (Motorway of the Sun) extends over an area of 6000 m2, just outside the Firenze Nord motorway tollgate. It was built by Giovanni Michelucci in the 1960s in memory of the workers who had died on the job while constructing the motorway. The building has an unusual, asymmetric floor plan with interiors characterised by a thick row of concrete pillars.
