The Certosa di Pontignano is a former Carthusian monastery dating back to the middle of the 14th century. It is now an accommodation facility and the official conference centre of the University of Siena, located about 15 km from the city. The ancient dwelling has two large gardens within the cloisters, three large conference rooms and rooms furnished with Italian antique furniture.
