DESCRIPTION
Dedicated to St. John the Baptist, the Baptistery is one of the architectural monuments in Piazza dei Miracoli. Its construction began around to 1152 and ended more than two centuries later. The interior is simple and has no large decorations; there is an octagonal baptismal font and a hexagonal pulpit carved in the middle of the 12th century by Nicola Pisano.
