DESCRIPTION

The Baptistery of San Giovanni was built in the 13th century near the base of the apse of the Cathedral of Siena. The unfinished façade is made predominantly of white marble and rises upwards covering much of the apse of the Cathedral. The most important work kept inside it is the famous baptismal font made by Jacopo della Quercia.
