DESCRIPTION

Pienza is a small village in southern Tuscany, transformed into an urban-architectural jewel by Pope Pius II in the middle of the 15th century. It is situated in a strategic position, perched on the top of a hill overlooking the whole of the Val d’Orcia. Among the historical buildings of particular interest: the Renaissance Cathedral Cattedrale dell’Assunta, the Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall) and Palazzo Piccolomini.
