DESCRIPTION
Located in the part of Tuscany between Siena and Massa Marittima, the Abbey of San Galgano is considered one of the most prestigious examples of Italian Gothic-Cistercian architecture. It is made up of the hermitage (the Rotonda di Montesiepi) and the vast abbey (which measures 69m long and 21m wide), and is a unique sight in Italy given that it has no roof.
