DESCRIPTION
The Fortezza Nuova (New Fortress) is an example of a military construction dating back to the end of the sixteenth century. Various architects worked on the project, including Bernardo Buontalenti and Don Giovanni de’ Medici. It was renovated in 1972 and today it accommodates a public park, with an evocative view of Piazza della Repubblica.
