Golden Globe Awards 2025: The Brutalist earned numerous accolades

The movie that was also filmed in Tuscany, won the Globe for best picture (drama), best actor for Adrien Brody’s role as the Hungarian László Tóth and best director for Brady Corbet

After winning the Silver Lion for Best Director at the 81st Venice International Film Festival 2024, the movie The Brutalist that was also shot in Tuscany, conquered the Golden Globes and It aims to the Oscars.

The movie, which came into the night of the Annual Golden Globes award ceremony with seven nominations, earned numerous accolades, with Adrien Brody taking home his first Golden Globe for his leading role, Brady Corbet, who also co-wrote the film, earning a best director win, and the movie ultimately claiming the title of best drama motion picture

Synopsis

The Brutalist chronicles the journey of Hungarian-born Jewish architect, László Tóth, who emigrates to the United States of America in 1947. Initially forced to toil in poverty, he soon wins a contract that will change the course of the next 30 years of his life.

The movie was already released in the U.S.  and is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom by Universal Pictures and Focus Features on January 24 and in Italy on February 6, 2025. Filming took place for a few days in Carrara in April 2023, involving the city center, Corso Rosselli, Drogheria Riacci and the Cava Corsi in Colonnata.
